Garena releases Free Fire calendar for 2025

THE Garena announced the official calendar of Free Fire competitions for 2025, bringing news that promises to shake up the competitive scenario of battle royale. Among the main changes are adjustments to the format of the finals, a new talent development program and the inclusion of more national tournaments, such as the FFWS BR 2 and FFWS BR 3.

The big highlight is the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals, which will take place for the first time in Indonesia. The 18 best teams in the world will compete for the title in Jakarta, over three weekends in November. In addition, Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will be the stage for the 2nd edition of the Esports World Cup: Free Fire, a tournament that will grant a direct place to the world final.

New format promises more exciting disputes

By 2025, the Garena will implement significant changes to the tournament format. The finals, previously played over three days, will now take place over two, with the introduction of “Race for the Bonus” before the Grand Final. This phase will serve as a preparatory stage, granting advantages to the teams with the best performance.

Another novelty is the rule “Last game, double elimination“In the final match of each elimination round, players will earn double points per elimination. This will allow for strategic comebacks and increase the unpredictability of matches.

Already in Grand Final, the “Champions Race Bonus” mechanic will come into effect. Teams will need to reach a pre-determined bonus before seeking outright victory. If no one manages to reach it after the eighth game, the team with the best overall score will be declared champion.

Furthermore, the “Single Active Skill Rule” will require each player on a team to equip a different active ability. This will force teams to diversify strategies, promoting more dynamic and innovative matches.

Brazil will have a reinforced calendar in 2025

Brazilian Free Fire fans will have even more tournaments to watch. Unlike last year, when only one national competition was held, Brazil will host three events throughout 2025.

The journey begins with the FFWS BR 2, which will take place from April 5th to June 22nd. After the Esports World Cup, Brazilian teams will have another opportunity to stand out in the FFWS BR 3, scheduled between July 26 and October 5.

These tournaments will serve as qualifiers for international events, increasing the chances of Brazilian teams securing spots in the world competitions. As a result, the competition on the national stage promises to be even more intense.

Esports World Cup will give direct entry to the global final

The city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will be the center of attention from July 15 to 20, when it will host the second edition of the Esports World Cup: Free Fire. The event will bring together some of the best teams in the world and will have a special attraction: the winning team will secure a direct spot in the FFWS Global Finals.

This change adds even more value to the tournament, making it one of the most important events of the season. In addition to the title, the teams will fight for an early spot in the race for the world trophy.

Global Talent Development Program will strengthen competitive base

Garena also announced the launch of a Global Talent Development Program, aimed at strengthening the competitive scene and creating opportunities for new players.

While there are still few details to be revealed, the program will seek to support emerging talent and foster the Free Fire esports scene in different regions. More information about the initiative will be released in the coming months.
