Fortnite has arrived with new features in Chapter 6 Season 1, including an exclusive Godzilla skin and a special mode where players can transform into the iconic creature. The mission system has been revamped, making it easier to unlock rewards. Now, instead of complex challenges, all you need to do is level up the Battle Pass.
In addition to the skin, the event brings new mechanics that allow players to become Godzilla himself within the match, using special abilities to dominate the battlefield. Check out how to take advantage of these new features.

To get the Godzilla skin, you'll need to own the Chapter 6 Season 1 Battle Pass and level up 12 in-game levels. This will automatically unlock the skin. Those who reach 24 levels will be able to get an alternate style and other associated rewards.
This new system replaces the old format, in which you had to complete specific missions to unlock secret skins. Now, you just have to play and accumulate experience to unlock the content.
In addition to the main skin, you can obtain exclusive accessories, such as the Godzilla's Exospine (back accessory), the Crystal Fang Pickaxe, the Mothra hang glider and the Looperzilla Gesture. By completing all event missions, players unlock the Godzilla style Energized, an improved version of the suit.
Tasks will be available until the end of the Chapter 6 Season 1 – Oni Hunt, on February 21, 2025, at 4 am (Brasília time).
How to transform into Godzilla in the game
The Godzilla event goes beyond skins, bringing a new dynamic. In some matches, a special portal may appear at the beginning of the round. The first player to reach it will transform into the creature, acquiring unique powers and greater resistance against attacks.
As with previous events, such as the Marvel-themed Destiny Island season, this mechanic is not available in all matches, making the challenge even more competitive.
Godzilla's Special Abilities in Fortnite
By assuming Godzilla form, the player gains access to three main abilities:
- Roar – Reveals the location of nearby players.
- Mighty Stomp – Deals area damage and pushes enemies away.
- Heat Ray – Destroys structures and deals high damage to opponents.
These skills have cooldowns, requiring strategy to be used at the right time and ensure an advantage against other players.
MechaGodzilla and Kong Bundle Arrives in Store
THE MechaGodzilla and Kong Bundle is now available in the Item Shop, bringing new skins and accessories inspired by the MonsterVerse.
The package includes the MechaGodzilla, a reactive suit that glows when attacking enemies, and the Kong, plus exclusive items:
- Proton Drill Pickaxe
- Kong's Axe Pickaxe
- Proton Thruster Back Accessory
- BEAST Back Plate Accessory
- Mighty Roar Wrap
- Cybernetic Roaring Wrapping
- BEAST Glove Gesture
The skins of MechaGodzilla and Kong will also be available individually, each accompanied by its respective back accessory.
THE BEAST Glove Gesture features unique sounds when used with the MechaGodzilla or Godzilla skins. Players can preview this effect in the in-game Item Shop before purchasing.
How to defeat Godzilla
Taking on Godzilla requires tactics and precision. After taking damage, the creature reveals glowing weak spots on its body. Hitting these spots causes more damage and causes it to release a Godzilla Fragment, an item that restores 40 HP and grants three quick dashes to the player who consumes it.
Additionally, specific weapons may be more effective against the monster. The Rail Gun, reintroduced in Fortnite's v33.20 update, may be the best option to take down the giant. The player who deals the most damage to Godzilla will be rewarded with a Burst Quad Launcher and the Godzilla Medallion, which grants a rechargeable dash ability for the rest of the match.
