Hired 2 Die gets a release date

Brazilian studio Electric Monkeys is betting big on the psychological horror genre with its new game, Hired 2 Die. Set to launch on January 31, the title arrives exclusively on Steam and promises to take players on a work experience that is, quite literally, terrifying. The demo is now available for those who want a taste of the challenge.

In the plot, reality is altered by human perceptions, giving rise to entities known as Distortions. These manifestations usually appear in places where the level of mental stress reaches its peak, transforming collective tension into bizarre objects and hostile creatures. The routine? Performing seemingly simple tasks while facing supernatural anomalies and terrifying creatures. The challenge, however, goes beyond that: survival is part of the “benefits” package. The player takes on the role of a newly hired employee by an enigmatic company called Intersection, whose priority is clear: to explore distortions, record anomalies and ensure profit above all else.

Teamwork… or almost

Cooperative mode is one of the highlights of the game. Up to three friends can join forces to face the missions. The footprint resembles a escape room, but with much darker consequences. Tension, however, can turn allies into adversaries: when fear takes over, trusting colleagues becomes a risky decision.

The narrative is centered on a world where “Distortions” — manifestations of collective anxieties — shape bizarre monsters and objects. These elements, combined with a detailed and frightening setting, place players on the edge between the real and the surreal.

Unique setting and immersive gameplay

With over 30 hours of content, Hired 2 Die promises to keep the tension going from start to finish. The detailed settings capture the atmosphere of a horror film, while Brazilian dark humor stands out in the interactions. Each monster has a unique design, inspired by the deepest fears, which guarantees a visual and strategic challenge.

The studio has invested in an immersive narrative that questions human sanity and motivations. For fans of the genre, the story promises to be as engaging as the scares.

Why try Hired 2 Die?

In addition to the setting, the game combines cooperation and suspense in balanced doses. Whether playing with friends or facing the challenge alone, the experience is a mix of adrenaline, strategy and moments of pure nervous fun.

Scheduled for release at the end of the month, Hired 2 Die is now available for preview on Steam. Download the demo and find out if you’re ready to take on the most terrifying job in gaming.
